What are Multiples of 5?

A number is called a multiple of 5 if it is completely divisible by 5 with the remainder zero.

For example, 5 divides 10 completely, so by the definition 10 is a multiple of 5. Similarly, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, 500, etc. are all examples of multiples of 5 as they are completely divisible 5.

Remark: From the above definition, it is clear that any multiple of 5 can be written as 5n for some integer n. So the set of multiples of 5 is given by

{5n: n is an integer}.

Note that the above set is the set of multiples of 5 in set builder form.

First 10 Multiples of 5

The first 10 multiples of 5 are as follows:

5×3=155×4=20
5×5=255×6=30
5×7=355×8=40
5×9=455×10=50

So we have:

The first 10 multiples of 5 are
